Konza Enterprise Innovation Challenge

The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) is rolling out an initiative aimed at exposing Kenyan innovators and start-ups to the world’s best technological firms and investors. This is through a three-month Enterprise Innovation Challenge that seeks to harness the innovative space for “techies” and start-ups to commercialise their ideas. The Konza Technopolis is a vision 2030 project whose objective is to position Kenya as a knowledge-based economy and a preferred Science, Technology and Innovation destination.Konza is looking for businesses and institutions that use science, technology, and innovation to transform the lives of Kenyans. Innovations should contribute towards transforming science and technology practices for increased productivity and job creation. Qualifying innovations should demonstrate clear benefits for end users, and in particular base of the pyramid consumers. They should also be scalable across multiple geographies in sub-Saharan Africa.Innovators will benefit from an advisory boot camp as well being linked to accelerator programs exposing them to the working environment of partner smart cities, science parks and areas of innovation as well as innovation hubs.
