MIT D-Lab - Energy Assessment Toolkit
MIT D-Lab - Energy Assessment Toolkit
Details
MIT D-Lab works with people around the world to develop and advance collaborative approaches and practical solutions to global poverty challenges. The program’s mission is pursued through interdisciplinary courses, research in collaboration with global partners, technology development, and community initiatives — all of which emphasize experiential learning, real-world projects, community-led development, and scalability. D-Lab research including needs assessment, market research, product evaluations, and sector-specific applied research, cuts across all programs. D-Lab research groups, initiatives and resources include Off-Grid Energy. The Off-Grid Energy Group focuses on providing organizations based in off-grid regions with the information and resources to design and implement programs that increase energy access in their communities. D-Lab's process centers around the D-Lab Off-Grid Energy Roadmap, which consists of the following steps:Assessment of energy needs and market opportunities;Identification of technologies and business models;Implementation of programs to increase energy access.
