Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Energy Finance (SUNREF)

The objective of the SUNREF (Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Energy Finance) initiative developed by Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is to support financial institutions and their clients in order to boost financing for projects for sustainable natural resources management, with a focus on clean energy. SUNREF provides an affordable line of credit together with project development technical assistance to help develop energy investments. Phase 2, SUNREF, comprises Technical Assistance (TA) and credit facilities to provide banks with the necessary long-term financing to overcome financial barriers met by project sponsors. This is open to companies needing to gain easier access to green finance and banks seeking to develop their green finance portfolios.
