The Foundation supports the launch of early enterprises in order to build investment-ready, self-sustaining, invention-based enterprises. They do this through training; mentoring; networking etc (see Developing Country Incubation Program)

New Energy Nexus helps organizations and entrepreneurs develop new incubators and acceleration programs focused on clean energy. They support in the following ways:1. Building startup communities and designing accelerator programs;2. Providing training, events and team capacity building;3. Providing strategic advice;4. Facilitating access to mentors and expert through our network;5. Raising funds;6. Providing access to a global learning community;7. Offering opportunities for co-branding

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCETechnical assistance grants support a particular country, region or sector to achieve our operational objectives, and comprises two types of grants:Program Grants are a comprehensive series of activities grouped under a strategic umbrella and developed in close coordination with development partners to achieve greater impact. Multi-year programs often help more than one client or country to tackle different aspects of the enabling environment.Coverage Grants are one-off activities designed to plug gaps in enabling environments and help drive sector reform. These smaller activities often act as the first step toward developing new programs, or else fill a gap within an existing program.KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTSKnowledge products focus on creating, curating and disseminating knowledge for various target audiences.These types of grants are divided into two main categories:Strategic Knowledge Initiatives are conducted in collaboration with institutional partners and have the same application process as coverage grants.Commissioned Products focus on stimulating knowledge creation and developing global knowledge products. These grants are awarded via a semi-annual competitive “call for knowledge proposals”.

Each winner receives 100,000 Swiss francs. In addition, Rolex ensures winners receive access to its network of more than 100 past Laureates, as well as the benefit of international publicity through media coverage and the Rolex Awards website.

SREP will also provide grant funding for capacity building and advisory services Capacity building and advisory services should be demand driven, country owned and flexible, and incorporated into the investment plan of each pilot. Such services should be tailored to SREP recipient country needs and local conditions and generally integrated into the design of investments. On an exceptional basis, capacity building and advisory services activities may also be delivered separately and funded independently from the investment activity.
